Coffee & Conversation

The Nicholas Pogose Foundation proudly presents Coffee and Conversation — a vibrant and informal initiative designed to create real human connection through the power of language.

Hosted in pop-up spaces within university campuses across Bangladesh, these relaxed gatherings offer students the chance to practice English with native speakers from the UK and beyond.

Building Bridges Through English, One Conversation at a Time

What We Do

At the heart of Coffee and Conversation is a simple but powerful idea:

“Language grows where kindness is spoken.”

We bring together UK-based volunteers, English speakers, and Bangladeshi university students for authentic, small-group conversations over coffee, tea, and laughter. No lessons, no pressure—just real dialogue.

Our VIP Guests may include authors, professionals, artists, and educators—each one passionate about listening, sharing stories, and helping students gain confidence in spoken English.

Why It Matters

Many students have strong written English skills but little opportunity to speak in a natural setting.
Our pop-ups create a safe, welcoming space to:

  • Practice conversational English
  • Explore culture and ideas
  • Build global friendships
  • Boost confidence and career readiness

Our first pop-ups have launched in partnership with Daffodil International University in Dhaka, with more planned in Chittagong, Sylhet, and Rajshahi. The programme is free for students, made possible by our dedicated team of UK volunteers and local coordinators.
