Listening to the Future:
Focus Group at DIU Sparks Dialogue on Youth Education Need
As part of our commitment to building meaningful, youth-led solutions, the Nicholas Pogose Foundation held its first focus group at Daffodil International University (DIU). The group explored current challenges, aspirations, and ideas for enhancing education, English language skills, and career readiness. The insights gathered will shape our future programmes—ensuring they are not only innovative but truly responsive to the real needs of the next generation.
YZA TECH in Action: Building the Future of Sports Talent in Bangladesh
In a strategy session at Daffodil International University, the YZA TECH team came together to accelerate the development of YZA Sports and YZA Cricket—two progressive platforms designed to unlock youth potential across Bangladesh. By combining AI, data insights, and grassroots access, these innovations aim to identify, track, and nurture the next generation of sports talent.

Coffee & Conversation
Coffee and Conversation is a warm, welcoming space where university students in Bangladesh can practise speaking English with native speakers from the UK and beyond. Held in relaxed pop-up settings on campus, these informal sessions help build confidence, improve communication skills, and create meaningful cultural connections.
Congratulations to Our Patron, Valerie Taylor, CBE
The Nicholas Pogose Foundation warmly congratulates our esteemed Patron, Valerie Taylor, on being awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for her extraordinary services to disadvantaged people in Bangladesh.
This well-deserved honour recognises Valerie’s life-long commitment to promoting health, dignity, and the rights of people with disabilities—often the most marginalised members of Bangladeshi society. Since first arriving in the country in 1969 with Voluntary Service Overseas, Valerie has been a pioneer and tireless advocate for disability rights.
Her remarkable legacy began with physiotherapy work in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and culminated in the founding of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP). From humble beginnings in a disused hospital warehouse with just four patients, CRP has grown under her visionary leadership into Bangladesh’s most respected institution for disability rehabilitation. Today, CRP operates a 100-bed hospital and 12 centres nationwide, offering accessible services, community-based programmes, and advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities—especially women and girls.
In Valerie’s own words:
“Receiving such an award is a perfect opportunity for me to thank and congratulate the staff of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) for their commitment to the work of complete rehabilitation for our patients over these last 46 years.”
Valerie Taylor is more than a pioneer—she is a national treasure and an inspiration to us all. We are honoured to have her as our Patron and celebrate her enduring impact on Bangladesh and beyond.
